Maritime Ferry!

Once upon a time Mr. Johnson was coming back from the mainland where he was at a hockey game or match, whatever it’s called, and he sat out on the edge of the large ferry in Chico he was riding.

He looked out over the edge of the railing where chunks of ice floated by in the freezing water below and he stayed in the ferry.

Thunk, the ferry made a noise as it went up the large chunk of ice and it slowly cracked and crumbled beneath it until SPLASH just as it had always done whenever it went up. The ice.

The ferry was riding through on a usual course when they heard the thud indicating the ferry had gone up in a chunk of ice, but this time there was no slow cracking, there was no crumbling of the ice, it was just sitting in the sheet of ice. Mr Johnson thought nothing of it, it’s just a ferry, this happens all the time, nothing’s wrong. Mr. Johnson’s friend was worried but Mr. Johnson assured him, everything was fine

He thought that for another 10 or so minutes until the PA system came on.

“We are experiencing a small delay, we will be continuing shortly”

All the passengers started panicking, oh dear god, maybe this was going to be the next titanic.

The commotion continued and even Mr Johnson decided to move away from the railing, hopefully he could avoid the cold water as best he could.

He walked farther into the boat in that deep dead night and they sat on top of the ice.

This continued for a while, maybe even longer than that, well, no matter, it was at least 3 hours that they were there, sitting in the ice. The PA system came on again.

“This is your captain speaking, we will be opening the bar”

Mr. Johnson was incredibly surprised, they never ever ever opened the bar, it was only there for show, for special occasions, but I guess being trapped in a sheet of ice was a special occasion.

People drank away and soon the commotion died down, being replaced by the drunken noises of people when they came into contact with free alcoholic beverages.
